BCSA operates from two offices in London and Doncaster.
Bio
Jonathan is responsible for setting the strategic direction of BCSA and managing the BCSA group of companies that supports our membership and delivers value to the market in terms of quality, professionalism, service and partnership. At its heart, this is through raising the standards of members and the steel construction sector making it safer, more sustainable, less risky and an attractive sector to work in and with. Jonathan represents BCSA and the UK and Republic of Ireland constructional steelwork sectors at individual, industry and government levels.

Ana is responsible for setting the technical direction of the Association, participates in the development of the steel design and fabrication standards. She manages a number of BCSA’s committees, develops practical design and fabrication guides, and advises BCSA’s member companies on the design and fabrication of steel structures. Ana is an expert in steel construction with over 20 years of experience in Portugal, the Netherlands, and the UK. She has a comprehensive knowledge of analysing, designing and executing steel structures.

Victoria is responsible for the marketing and promotional activities for Steel for Life. Her role oversees the production of the New Steel Construction magazine and the organisation of the Structural Steel Design Awards. Victoria joined BCSA in 2024 and has 10 years of business-to-business marketing experience, including 5 years within the construction and engineering sector.

Deborah is responsible for the legal function at BCSA, is group Company Secretary and advises members on legal and commercial issues. She also represents BCSA members in liaising with government and the construction industry. Deborah is a specialist construction solicitor with over 20 years experience as an in-house lawyer and in private practice.

Trish is responsible for the marketing activties at the British Constructional Steelwork Association. Trish has experience working across multiple sectors, contributing to successful campaigns. With a diverse background in marketing, she brings valuable expertise in organising industry events, driving engagement, and enhancing brand presence.

Lorraine’s role is to provide membership administration to all members of BCSA. Lorraine is responsible for the RQSC Buildings and Bridgeworks assessment administration, new member administration, organisation of regional meetings, annual general meetings and in-house meetings. Lorraine has over 17 years experience as an administration manager and personal assistant.

David is Deputy CEO and working 2 days a week to support Jonathan Clemens and provide help and support to BCSA’s members and the wider constructional steelwork industry.

Michael is responsible for sustainability at the Association; providing advice and support to Members and representing the steel construction sector within the wider construction sector.
Michael is a Chartered Environmentalist with 23 years’ post-doctorate experience of environmental and sustainability work in consultancy, research and research management roles in the steel and construction sectors.

Don is responsible for the entire accounting functions to final audit, of the BCSA Group of Companies, which comprise BCSA Ltd, BCSA Association, Steel Construction Certification Scheme and Steel for Life.

Sarah joined the team at BCSA in 2022 and assists Don Thornicroft in the Accounts Department.
Sarah has over 20 years experience in accounts, finance and administration gained within a small business in the construction sector.

Pete’s role is to provide members with health, safety and training advice, and to keep them up to date with current regulations and guidance. He works with other Trade Associations and the Health and Safety Executive on the changes in current good working practices. He works with these other bodies to establish common areas of health and safety concern.

Zoe is responsible for marketing, communications and sponsorship for BCSA and Steel for Life. Zoe also manages BCSA’s marketing; including developing the BCSA website and organising the trade association’s National Dinner. Zoe joined BCSA in 2021 and has over 15 years of marketing experience within the building sector.
